Requirements for Using Snapdiff on Network Share

If you want to use NetApp SnapDiff for faster incremental backups, verify that your environment meets the system requirements.

System Requirements

Requirements in the Commvault Software

• You must create subclients with Commvault FR 11.23 or a more recent release.

• You must enter array credentials for the array. See Editing the User Credentials or Description of a Storage Array.

File Server Requirements

To set up an account to log on to the file server, see Frequently Asked Questions for the NetApp Storage Array. These login credentials enable SnapDiff V1.

To set up SnapDiff V2 which is faster than V1, RPC must be enabled on the vServer and there must be an NFS interface between the vServer and Commvault access-node or MediaAgent running the scan. To configure RPC and an NFS interface, execute the following commands.
