The Usage dashboard is located in the Licensing and Registration dialog box. The dashboard provides a summary of the usage details for each of the displayed licenses. Usage is calculated based on the number of virtual machines used, archived mailboxes, and content indexed objects.
You can save a copy of the Usage dashboard and use it for auditing purposes. For example, when the usage exceeds the licensing limits, you can send the report file to your software provider to request a new license.
Usage Totals
If a specific license (such as Commvault Complete) is applied to the CommServe computer, then the amount of license usage appears as the Licensed Total in the chart.
If a specific license (such as Commvault Complete) is not applied to the CommServe computer, then the software displays the potential amount of license usage, plus an additional 35% of usage. This potential usage amount appears as the Suggested Total in the chart.
