Getting Started with Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure)

To set up Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure), review system requirements, and then add the array in the Commvault software. Then you can modify the snapshot properties.

Procedure

  1. Verify that your environment meets the Systems Requirements for Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure).

  2. Configure the array in the array software before configuring the array on the Commvault software. See Configuring Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure) on the array software

  3. On Commvault software, add and configure Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure).

Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure) is now ready to operate.

  4. Choose one of the supported agents for Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure).

  5. When you run the first snapshot backup operation, a retention policy is created. The Commvault software creates the retention policy in Silk Software Defined Cloud Storage (Azure), named as CV__CommvaultIntelliSnap, and then sets this retention policy to retain snapshots as long as possible. Do not change this retention policy.
