Global Exclusions filter out data from backup operations. You can create Windows, Unix, and NDMP exclusions. Global exclusions support the use of regular expressions (or wildcards).
Procedure
-
From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.
The System page appears.
-
Click the Global exclusions tile.
The Global exclusions page appears.
-
Open the Enter path dialog box:
-
If this is the first exclusion in your Command Center, click Add Windows exclusion, Add Unix exclusion or Add NDMP exclusion.
-
If exclusions exist in your Command Center, under Windows global exclusions, Unix global exclusions or NDMP global exclusions, click Add.
Note
-
Only certain NAS NDMP vendors support filters.
-
Each supported vendor has different guidelines for formatting filters. When adding a filter that will be applied across different NAS NDMP vendors, the filter must be valid for each vendor.
For more information about vendor specific filter patterns for NAS NDMP agents, see the Filter Guidelines.
-
-
In the Enter path dialog box, type the path to the file or folder you want to exclude from the backup operation.
-
To add multiple paths, press Enter before adding the next path.
-
Optional: To configure all subclients to use global exclusions, in the General box, select Use global exclusions on all subclients.
-
Click Save.
