Viewing Log Files Based on Job ID

If you have the job ID, you can use it to find and view log files. This is useful in situations when you know the job ID but do not know the client where the job was run or the time the job was run. If the job spans multiple log files, the logs will be retrieved from the most current log file and the previously saved log file. For example, jobmanager.log and jobmanager_1.log. By default, you can only view the two recent archive log files. For example, the archive file name will look like the following: DistributeSoftware_2021_02_12_10_23_42.log.zip.

In the view log screen the limit for viewing a page in the log file is set to 10,000 lines. If you want to set the number of lines that can be viewed, use the additional settings nViewLogsLinesMaxLimit and modify the value to the number of lines you want to see in the view log screen. When the line level permission is applied to the subclients, you can only view log lines specified by the client.

  2. In the Enter Job ID box, type the job ID number, and then click OK.

The log file for the specified job ID appears in the Log File dialog box.
