You can add or remove a role associated with a Backup Gateway.
Note
The software automatically removes DDB role for a Backup Gateway when all the DDB partitions are moved from the Backup Gateway.
Before You Begin
- User must have MediaAgent Management permission on the Backup Gateway.
- User must have edit permission on the storage pool.
- User must have Library Administration or Library Management permission on the storage pool to perform the following operations:
- Add or remove Storage role
- Add or remove both Storage and DDB roles
Procedure
- From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Storage > Cloud.
The Cloud page appears. - Click the cloud storage that you want to associate a Backup Gateway with.
The cloud storage page appears. - Click the Backup locations tab.
- To add a role to a Backup Gateway, in the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to add role for, click the Action button, and then click Add role.
- To remove a role for a Backup Gateway, complete the following steps:
- In the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to remove role for, click the Action button, and then click Remove roles.
The Confirm remove roles dialog box appears. - Under Roles, select the roles you want to remove.
- Click Save.
If you removed all the roles, then the Backup Gateway disappears from the Associated Backup Gateways section.
- In the Associated Backup Gateways section, for the Backup Gateway you want to remove role for, click the Action button, and then click Remove roles.
