Adding a DB2 MultiNode Subclient

The system creates a default data subclient and a default log subclient when you add a database to the Commvault instance. You can create additional subclients for tablespaces that frequently change or have a different backup schedule than the entire DB2 MultiNode database.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

    The database Overview page appears.

  2. On the Instances tab, click the instance.

    The instance Overview page appears.

  3. In the Databases tab, click the database.

    The database page appears.

  4. On the Overview tab, in the Subclients section, click Add subclient.

    The Add subclient dialog box appears.

  5. In the Subclient name box, enter a name for the subclient.

  6. From the Plan list, select a plan.

  7. Select the data to include in backups:

    • To back up an entire online database, do the following:

      1. Move the Data backup toggle to right.

      2. From the Backup mode list, select the Online database option.

    • To back up a subset of an online database, do the following:

      1. Move the Data backup toggle to right.

      2. From the Backup mode list, select, select the Online Database option.

      3. Select the Online subset check box.

    • To back up an entire offline database, do the following:

      1. Move the Data backup toggle to right.

      2. Select the Offline database option.

  8. To back up the archive logs, do the following:

    1. Move the Back up archive logs toggle to right.

    2. To delete the logs after successful backups, select the Delete archive logs after backup check box.

  9. To change the number of partition streams, under DB2 partition nodes section, click Edit.

    The Edit DB2 partition node dialog appears.

    1. In the Number of backup streams per node box, enter the number of partition streams to use for each partition.

    2. Click Save.

  10. Click Save.
