You must register the Azure app with Azure Active Directory (AD). Instead of logging on to the Microsoft Azure portal to register an app, you can use the configuration helper tool. The configuration helper tool automates the registration.
Important
-
A global administrator account is required to use the configuration helper tool.
-
If you have a restricted environment, install the Graph PowerShell module before running the configuration helper tool (in other environments, the configuration helper tool automates the installation of the Graph PowerShell module). See Install the Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK in the Microsoft documentation for instructions.
-
The configuration helper tool can be downloaded from the Command Center. For new clients, you can download the configuration helper tool from Create Office 365 app > Application Details. For existing clients, you can download it from Add Azure App > Connection Details.
Procedure
-
Run the custom configuration helper tool executable (.exe) file.
The .exe file is available in the Command Center for download.
-
On the Microsoft login page, enter the credentials for the global administrator account.
The tool will register the app, collect the Azure app details (app ID, secret key, directory ID and Azure Certificate private key).
Note
You can create a service account using the configuration helper tool as well, if required.
-
Enter the required details in the Command Center.
