You can delete one or more snapshots from a storage array or disk.
You may want to delete snapshots if a hypervisor client is deleted and its snapshots become orphaned.
Considerations
When you configure an access node in Arrays page, you must enable pruning. Pruning enables the access node to delete snapshots associated with data aging in Arrays page.
Before You Begin
Ensure that the snapshot is unmounted. See Mounting and Unmounting Snapshots.
Caution
Manual deletion of snapshots is not recommended. When you delete a snapshot, you can no longer perform data recovery operations from that snapshot copy. However, if you created a backup copy from the snapshot, then you can use the snapshot to perform data recovery operations from the backup copy.
