Adding a Setting for Servers and Server Groups

You can add an additional setting to servers and server groups from the Command Center. You can select multiple servers and server groups to add the setting to.

Note

When a server is associated with multiple server groups and the same additional setting is added to each server group, the additional setting added to the server group that was created first applies to the server.

Before You Begin

Verify that your CommCell user account has the following permissions:

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.

  2. Click the Settings tile.

    The Settings page appears.

  3. Click Add, and then select Entity settings.

    The Add entity settings dialog box appears.

  4. In the Name box, enter the name of the setting.

    To add a custom key that is not predefined, type the name of the custom key and then select the name from the suggestion list.

  5. From the Entity list, select the servers and server groups to add the setting to.

  6. In the Value box, enter a valid value for the setting.

  7. In the Enter the comment box, enter your comments.

  8. Click Add.

  9. Click Save.
