You can perform a validating restore job to verify that the backup copies of the data and log files required for the restore are valid and usable. RMAN simulates a restore job to run the verification operation.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Oracle.

Right-click the instance, point to All Tasks and then click Browse and Restore.

Select Latest Backup and click View Content.

Select the databases, and then click Recover All Selected.

Select the option for the type of restore operation, and then click Next.
An Oracle restore options dialog box appears.

On the General tab, click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the Options tab, select Validate.

Click OK.

Click OK.
