You can use the CVInstallNetworkServer tool to install the NFS-Ganesha and Samba servers on a Linux MediaAgent.
The CVInstallNetworkServer tool logs are available in the CVInstallNetworkServer.log file.
Before You Begin
-
Verify that the following software is installed on the MediaAgent:
-
Python 2.7 or higher
Note
When support for the platform module will be deprecated in a future version of Python (expected in Python 3.8), if the pip Python package is present on the MediaAgent, then Commvault installs the distro Python package. Otherwise, to continue with the installation, you must install either the pip Python package or a distro Python package on the MediaAgent.
-
Repositories:
-
base
-
extras
-
updates
To verify the configured repositories, you can run the
yum repolistcommand. -
-
-
Verify that the MediaAgent has an Internet connection.
Procedure
-
On the command line, run the following command after substituting the parameter values:
./CVInstallNetworkServer.py [-h] [-g NfsGaneshaVersion] -i MAInstanceName -c clientNameFor example:
./CVInstallNetworkServer.py -i Instance001 -c Client001For information about parameters, see Parameters for CVInstallNetworkServer Tool.
What to Do Next
Active Directory integration is not configured when you run the CVInstallNetworkServer tool on the Linux MediaAgent. To add the Linux MediaAgent to the Windows Active Directory domain, you must use a workflow.
