Based on your environment settings, or the installation options that you set, you might have to perform some general tasks to complete the installation on MediaAgents with Windows operating system.
Configure Cluster Group Clients
If you installed agents in a cluster environment, you must configure a cluster group client, and, if applicable, failover settings. For more information, see the following:
Add Commvault to the Windows Firewall Exclusion List
If you did not add the Commvault programs and services to the Windows Firewall exclusion list during the installation, you can add them later by using a batch file. For more information, see Configuring Windows Firewall to Allow CommCell Communication.
Add the bPre11Clients Additional Setting if You Have V10 Clients in Your CommCell Environment
Due to security enhancements made in CPR 2023E, communication from a Commvault Version 11 MediaAgent to Commvault Version 10 clients will not work unless you add the bPre11Clients additional setting to the Version 11 MediaAgent.
-
To the Version 11 MediaAgent, add the bPre11Clients additional setting as shown in the following table.
For information about adding an additional setting from the CommCell Console, see Adding an Additional Setting from the CommCell Console.

Enable Application-Aware Installs
If any of the following are true, you can configure the Commvault software to automatically detect the installed client database applications and then install the corresponding Commvault packages:
-
You plan to add additional applications after you install the Commvault software.
-
You plan to refresh the hardware.
-
You have managed service provider configuration.
For information on how to enable this feature, see Installing Commvault by Automatically Detecting the Database Applications Installed on Clients.
Restart DB2 Instance Services
If the Windows client has a DB2 agent, you must restart DB2 instance services after you upgrade the DB2 agent.
