You can restore the Nutanix Files subclient data to a different NFS share path using multiple nodes.
You can configure the data access nodes as restore nodes for the Nutanix Files subclient. The restore operation runs on the selected nodes.
Before You Begin
-
For more information about general restore options, see Restore/Recover Options (General).
-
For more information about the Advanced Options, see Advanced Restore Options.
-
If you have hard link groups in your restore content, then the hard link group might not be preserved and the links could be restored as individual files. This happens when the links are restored by different streams.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Linux File System > backup_set.
-
Right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.
-
Click View Content.
-
Select the data that you want to restore, and click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options dialog box appears.
-
On the General tab, provide the destination information:
-
From the Proxy Client list, select the primary data access node for the restore operation.
-
In the Number of Streams box, enter the recommended number of data streams that you want to use for the restore operation.
Note
-
The actual number of streams used depends on the restore data set and the number of streams used to back up data.
-
When you perform a restore by jobs operation, the Number of Streams option is not available because restore by job operations use multiple streams by default.
-
-
Select the Multiple Nodes check box.
-
Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box appears.
-
On the Data Access Nodes tab, in the Available Data Access Nodes list, select the secondary data access nodes that will participate in the restore operation, and then click Add.
Note
-
You can select a client or a client group (containing Linux clients) from the available nodes list.
-
All of the participating restore nodes must be at the same service pack level.
-
The destination volume must be shared across all the restore nodes and it must be accessible from all the nodes.
-
-
Clear the Restore to Same Folder check box.
-
In the Specify Destination Path box, type the destination NFS path.
-
Click OK.
-
-
On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.
Note
If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.
For information on configuring a restore schedule, see Schedule Restore.
-
Click OK.
To monitor the progress of the restore job, see Job Controller.
