A VSA proxy cannot be used to back up the virtual machine where it is running.
If you have multiple VSA proxies, you can use a VSA proxy to back up other VSA proxies. To use this approach, create at least two subclients, and verify that the proxies that are listed for each subclient do not include the virtual machines that are listed as content for the subclient.
The following table shows an example:
|
Subclient |
Proxies |
Content (VMs to be backed up) |
|---|---|---|
|
Subclient 1 |
VSA Proxy A VSA Proxy B |
Protection Domain 1 VM 123 VSA Proxy C VSA Proxy D |
|
Subclient 2 |
VSA Proxy C VSA Proxy D |
Protection Domain 2 VM 456 VSA Proxy A VSA Proxy B |
