The method used to protect the Workflow engine depends on how the Workflow Engine is installed:

If the Workflow Engine is installed on the CommServe computer, the Workflow database is automatically included in the disaster recovery backup for the CommServe database. For information on disaster recovery for CommServe computers, see CommServe Recovery.

If the Workflow Engine is installed on a computer other than the CommServe computer, you must configure a Microsoft SQL Server Agent to back up the Workflow Engine (WFEngine) database. For information see Configuring the SQL Server Agent to Back Up the Workflow Engine.
