OpenStack Swift Overview

OpenStack Swift, also known as OpenStack Object Storage, is an open-source object storage system.

OpenStack Swift is best suited to back up and archive unstructured data, such as documents, images, audio and video files, emails, and virtual machine images.

You can back up the data stored in Openstack Object Storage (Simple Storage Service) using the Commvault Software.

The logical entity that defines the OpenStack Swift data to be backed up.

Object

Represents a unit of storage in OpenStack Swift.

Container

Represents a collection of OpenStack Swift objects.
