Forcing Transport Modes in vSphere VADP Environments (VMware)

By default, the transport mode is selected automatically for backups and restores, based on the VSA proxy used and the virtual machines being backed up or restored. You can force one of the following transport modes to be used for all virtual machine backups by configuring the vStorageTransportMode additional setting:

SAN
HotAdd
NBD
NAS

Configure the vStorageTransportMode additional setting on all proxy computers selected for the VMware vCenter Client as shown in the following table.
