Browsing and Restoring Messages Using the Exchange Mailbox Agent

Plan your restore operations according to your requirements. For more information about planning your restore operations, see Restore Backup Data.

Only the most recently archived state of the messages can be browsed and restored. For example, if a message is archived in its unread state, and then archived again in its read state, only the message that was archived in the read state can be browsed and restored.

You can browse for the items that you want to restore from the Content tab (for the entire subclient) or from the Mailboxes tab (for individual mailboxes). In these procedures, the browse is initiated from the Content tab.

Destination Clients

The items that appear in the Destination clients list depend on where you want to restore the messages.

  • When you select To Mailbox, the available destination clients are the Exchange Mailbox clients that are in the CommCell environment.

  • When you select To PST File or To Disk, the available destination clients are the physical clients that are in the CommCell environment.
