Backing Up a Snapshot

Applies To: Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale, IBM Sonas, NetApp, Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance

You can back up a snapshot.

About This Task

IBM Sonas: If the snapshot exists, use NDMP_EXISTING_<snapname> as the format to specify the name of the snapshot. If the snapshot does not exist or the specified name does not start with NDMP_EXISTING_ a new snapshot is created during backup.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, go to client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

2. In the right pane, right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.

   The Backup Options dialog box appears.

3. On theBackup Options tab, clickAdvanced.

   TheAdvanced Backup Options dialog box appears.

4. On the NAS Options tab, in Snapshot to Back-up box, enter the snapshot name, and then click OK.

5. Select the backup type and schedule.

6. Click OK.
