If the servers in your Commvault environment cannot connect directly to the internet, configure HTTP proxies to enable outbound access. You can create a proxy for your MediaAgents and your CommServe.
MediaAgents proxy
A MediaAgents proxy provides access to cloud storage and other external services that are required for backup, restore, verification, and maintenance operations.
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Manage > Environment > Infrastructure.
-
Click the Server groups tile.
-
Click the MediaAgents server group.
-
On the Configuration tab, on the HTTP proxy tile, enable the Use HTTP proxy toggle key.
-
Specify how to provide the proxy:
-
If a proxy is already defined on your MediaAgents, enable the Use the client OS proxy settings toggle key.
-
Otherwise, leave Use the client OS proxy settings disabled, and specify the proxy server host name or IP address and port.
-
-
If the proxy requires credentials, enable the Use authentication toggle key, and enter the username and password.
-
If your environment uses network topologies, enable the Use with network topologies toggle key.
-
In Proxy bypass, enter hostnames or domains that should connect directly, without using the HTTP proxy.
-
Click Save.
