Adding Google Cloud in Array Management

Add an array entry for Google Cloud (GC) in Array Management.

Procedure

  1. In the Google Cloud Portal, check that the VM instance properties display the correct API access scope for the VM. The Compute Engine Cloud API access scope must be Read Write.

    Tip

To edit the API access scope, you must first stop the VM.

  2. On the Commvault software, on the ribbon in the CommCell Console, click the Storage tab, and then click Array Management.

The Array Management dialog box appears.

  3. Click Add.

The Array Properties dialog box appears.

  4. On the General tab, specify the following information:

    1. From the Snap Vendor list, select Google Cloud.

    2. In the Name box, enter the management IP of the GC array.

    3. In the Credentials area, click Change.

The User Account dialog box appears.

    4. Type the credentials of a user who has the privileges needed for the operations that you require.

    5. In the Private key box, enter the name of the file that contains the service account ID and password.

    6. Click OK.

  5. Optional: If you have the following scenarios, add an array access node:

    • To use the secondary live snapshot for the backup copy operation, click the Array Access Nodes tab, and then add a proxy MediaAgent or a source computer as an array access node for the secondary array.

    • To add a MediaAgent to perform additional operations on the storage array, click the Array Access Nodes tab, and then select the options that you want for the MediaAgent.
