Store Account Information with Credential Vault

Updated

With Credential Vault, you can create a credential entity to store, share, and update account credentials for shared resources in your environment. You can create credential entities for Windows accounts, Linux accounts, SQL Server accounts, storage array accounts, and cloud accounts.

When you create a credential entity, you assign an owner and users. The owner of a credential entity is the user or the user group that has permission to modify the credential entity. When owners modify a credential entity, such as updating the password, the update is applied everywhere the credential entity is used. Users of a credential entity can use it to configure backups of share drives or other resources.

Note

Credential Vault is available in both the Command Center and the CommCell Console. When you create a credential, it is available in both consoles.
