Safe Snap is a feature in Hitachi Vantara storage solutions that provides enhanced data protection by allowing the creation of immutable snapshots. Commvault supports Safe Snap (Immutable Snapshots) feature for Hitachi Vantara storage array for HTI-A snapshots, DRS volumes, and GAD pairs. This provides advanced data protection and compliance capabilities, ensuring that the snapshot remains unchanged and protected against accidental or intentional modification or deletion until a set retention time. You can enable immutable snapshot option on the snapshot primary copy, vault/replica copy or both for Hitachi Vantara storage array.
Note
If the snapshot backup is enabled for GAD pairs, the immutable snapshots will be created on both devices.
