Restores for SQL Server

You can restore full databases or partial SQL Server databases to the current location (in place), to a different location (out of place, database copy), or directly to a disk.

You can restore individual tables only on SQL clones. For more information, see Cloning a SQL Database.

If you are restoring to a SQL database (not restoring to disk) and the database is larger than 1 TB, Commvault recommends that you enable instant file initialization. Otherwise, the restore may take longer than expected. For more information, see the KB article File Initialization During SQL Database Restore Takes Longer Than Expected.
