To optimize backup performance, you can increase the number of data streams used for the backup operation of the tables during full backups. With an increased number of data streams, full backups of tables complete faster.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.
The database overview page appears.

On the Instances tab, from the list of Instances, select DynamoDB database instance.
The Overview page for cloud database instance appears.

Click the Table groups tab.
The Table groups details page appears.

Under Table groups, click the table group.
The Overview page of the table group appears.

In the General tile, next to the Number of data streams, click the edit button
, and then enter the number of streams to use for backups. -
Click SUBMIT.
