Activities Disabled at CommCell Alert

Use this alert to monitor when activities, such as scheduling, backup, and auxiliary copy, are disabled at the CommCell level.

Auxiliary Copy Job Failed Continuously for N Attempts

Use this alert to monitor the success of auxiliary copy jobs for a storage policy.

Backup Exceeds X GB

Use this alert to monitor the size of the backup job running on a client.

Backup Job Scan Phase Exceeds Threshold

Use this alert to monitor jobs that remain in the scan phase longer than the specified threshold. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

CA Certificate Expired

Use this alert to monitor when CommCell certificates will expire. The alert reports all CA certificates that will expire after the user-defined threshold. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

Clients Not Backed Up by Days

Use this alert to monitor clients that are not backed up in a specified number of days. The alert reports the client name and the number of days since the client was backed up. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

Client Group License Usage Check

Use this alert to monitor client computer groups that exceed the limit on the amount of data they can back up. The alert reports the client group name. For information on setting limits on client computer groups, see Setting a Licensing Limit for Tenants.

CommCell Scheduler Status

Use this alert to monitor when the scheduler is disabled for the number of hours defined in the alert. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

No Data Aging In The Past X Days

Use this alert to monitor the periodic running of the data aging job. Install this alert from the Commvault Store. See Alerts and Notifications - Installing Alert Rules from Commvault Store.

Data Aging is disabled for n days

Use this alert to monitor the client computers or the client computer groups for which data aging was disabled for a specified number of days. The alert reports the client computer name, the client computer group name and the number of days since the data aging was disabled. This alert is disabled by default. DDB Disk Space Low

Use this alert to monitor when a deduplication database reaches free space thresholds. The alert reports the available free space, the free space warning threshold, and the minimum free space required. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. HyperScale Hardware Monitoring Alert

Use this alert to monitor hardware and network failures on HyperScale nodes.

Index Backup Status

Use this alert to monitor indexes that are not backed up within 30 days. The IndexBackup subclient on the MediaAgent is monitored.

Use this alert to monitor whether errors occur during index backup operations.

Job Run Time Anomaly

Use this alert to monitor the run time of backup jobs for a client computer group and send alert when the run time exceeds the system threshold runtime calculated based on the historical data of successful backup jobs collected using machine learning. The alert reports the job IDs and the reasons the jobs are taking more time to run. This alert helps the backup administrators to detect any anomaly in job execution.

License Usage Alert

Use this alert to monitor when the percentage of permanent licenses consumed exceeds the specified threshold. The alert reports the permanent licenses that are issued and the permanent licenses that are consumed. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. Use this alert to monitor whether any media has been loaded for the selected tape drive.

Use this alert to receive a notification about offline virtual machines that will be deleted after thirty days.

Notify deconfigured Virtual Machines

Use this alert to receive a notification about virtual machines with backup data that are deleted from Virtual Server Agents.

Number of Jobs in Queued State Exceeds Threshold

Use this alert to monitor when the number of jobs in a queued state exceeds the specified threshold. The alert reports the number of jobs in the queue and the reasons the jobs are in the queue. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

Restore or Admin Job Running for More than the Threshold Time

ScaleOut Disk Health Rule

Use this alert to monitor the health of drive(s) attached to an HyperScale storage pool and generate the alert when a drive failure is detected. Drive failures due to IO test failures, S.M.A.R.T Health issues, issue with unmount of a storage pool, issue with reduction in the size of a storage pool from its original size, and/or offline gluster daemons of bricks are detected. SLA Health Check

Use this alert to monitor the status of backup operations.

Transaction log backup delayed alert

Use this alert to monitor database agent incremental data protection jobs that are delayed more than the specified number of minutes. This alert tracks jobs that are in a waiting state for 1 to 60 minutes. Install this alert rule from the Commvault Store. See Installing Alert Rules from the Commvault Store.

Important: Before using the Transaction log backup delayed alert alert, set up a separate alert where:

• Category is Job Management

• Type is Data Protection

• Alert Criterion is Delayed by 1 Hrs

  User Permissions	Associated Entities	Criteria	Description
  Administrative Management	CommCells	Client Filter	The client to monitor for delayed incremental data protection jobs.
  		Client Groups Filter	The client group to monitor for delayed incremental data protection jobs.
  		Threshold delay time (In minutes)	An incremental data protection job was in a waiting state for the minutes specified. For example, enter 10 to trigger an alert if the job is waiting more than 10 minutes.

Unsuccessful Backup Job for Database Agents
