Restore Microsoft OneDrive for Business

You can perform a restore from the instance level or the subclient level. If you perform a restore from the instance level, you can restore all user accounts in that instance in a single restore job. Alternatively, can choose to restore individual subclients, data for individual users, folders, files and OneNote files.

Restore Objectives

Your objective for restoring data determines the process you must follow and the restore destination.

Restore data from a specified range of time

If you need to restore data during a range of time (for example, data that was deleted accidentally), you can browse and restore data based on a time range that you specify.

Restore to a point in time

If your data becomes corrupted or otherwise invalid, you can restore the data to a point in time before the data became unusable.

Restore Destinations

The destination where you restore your data is determined by your restore objective.

In-place restore

When you restore data in place, you restore it to the same path in the same folder in the cloud from which the data was backed up.

Out-of-place restore

When you restore data out of place, you restore it to a physical disk that it attached to the client where Cloud Apps is installed.
