Install Service Pack and Hotfixes Options (General)

Use this dialog box to install the service pack and hotfixes on one or more client computers in your CommCell environment.

This option is available when you access the dialog box from the Tools tab in the CommCell Console ribbon.

Reboot Client

Select to automatically reboot the client or MediaAgent computer during the service pack installation process. The Commvault software determines whether the reboot is required.

Automatically Uninstall Conflicting Hotfix or Diagnostic Update

If individual updates, such as hotfixes or diagnostic updates, were installed after a service pack, you must select this option to uninstall the individual updates before the new service pack is installed. If the option is not selected, errors might occur during the service pack installation.

Run Database Maintenance if applicable and not run in last 6 months

This option applies to the CommServe computer and clients that have server packages installed, such as the Web Server and Workflow Engine.

Auto Install passive nodes

Select this option if you install the service pack on the CommServe computer that is configured in a cluster environment. After the service pack is installed on the active node, the installation program automatically continues to update each passive node.

Auto reboot passive nodes if required

When you select this option, the passive nodes that require a restart after the service pack installation are restarted automatically. If you do not select this option, you must remember to restart the required passive nodes manually.

User Name

The user name of the domain administrator account which has access to all cluster nodes.

Password

The password associated with the domain administrator account.

Confirm Password

Retype the password for confirmation.

Save As Script

Click to open the Save As Script dialog box, which allows you to save this operation and the selected options as a script file (in XML format). The script can later be run from the Command Line Interface using qoperation execute command.

When you save an operation as a script, each option in the dialog box has a corresponding XML element in the script file. When you run the script, you can modify the value in any of these XML elements.
