Google Cloud Storage

You can use the Commvault software to back up the data stored in Google Cloud Storage.

Commvault provides a single interface (pseudo-client) that you use to manage the instances that are part of your Google Cloud account.

Terminology

The Google Cloud Storage documentation uses the following terminology:

Virtual client

The interface that protects your Google Cloud Storage data.

Instance

The entity that represents your data in a Google Cloud Storage account. You can create multiple instances to manage different Google Cloud Storage accounts.

Subclient

The logical entity that defines the Google Cloud Storage data to be backed up.

Object

Represents a unit of storage in Google Cloud Storage.

Bucket

Represents a collection of Google Cloud Storage objects.
