Enabling User Authentication for Installing Agents on the CommCell

CommCell environments can be secured by limiting agent installations to those users who have the following security associations:

• Install Package/Update permission on the client

• Install Client permission on the client

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe and then click Properties.

   The CommCell Properties dialog box is displayed.

2. Click the Security tab.

3. Select the Require Authentication for Agent Installation check box.

4. Click OK.

Result

The user performing the remote installation is prompted for credentials. If the user does not have the required security association, the install is prevented.
