Deploying a Workflow

Deploying a workflow is the process of making it active on a given workflow engine. After you save a new or updated workflow, you are asked to deploy the workflow. If you chose to deploy the workflow at a later time, you can deploy it using the following sections.

Note

A workflow cannot be executed until it is deployed.

About This Task

If you do not want to deploy and run your workflows using the workflow engine installed on the CommServe computer, you can set up another workflow engine on a separate computer. For more information, see Deployment - Workflow.

Before you start using the new engine, deploy and run one of your workflows to test the new engine. If you plan to completely stop using the workflow engine installed on the CommServe computer, perform the following tasks:

  • Deploy all of your workflows using the new workflow engine.

  • Update any existing schedule or command line script to use the new workflow engine.
