Adding Amazon RDS SQL Instances to the Pseudo-client

After you configure the pseudo-client for Amazon RDS, add a SQL server for each Amazon RDS instance that is part of the account.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > pseudo-client.

  2. Right-click SQL Server, point to All Tasks, and then click New SQL Server.

The New SQL Server dialog box appears.

  3. On the General tab, from the Server Name list, select the Amazon RDS instance.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Right-click SQL Server, and then click Properties.

The SQL Server Properties dialog box appears.

  6. In the Cloud Configuration tab, enter the S3 Bucket Name.

  7. Click Change Account to enter the admin account credentials of the RDS SQL instance to be protected.

  8. Click OK.

What to Do Next

Create a subclient to protect the databases. When you create the subclient, set the subclient type to Database (New SQL Subclient dialog box, General tab, Subclient Type list). For more information, see Creating User-Defined Subclients to Back Up a Group of SQL Databases.
