Data Views for the SLA Report

The SLA Report displays the percentage of servers that met and missed SLA over the specified time period.

The SLA Server Summary chart can be viewed by servers or by agents. You can view a more detailed report about Met SLA or Missed SLA by clicking on a pie piece.

SLA Server Summary by Servers

This pie chart displays the number and percentage of servers that met SLA, the number and percentage of servers that did not meet SLA, and the number of servers excluded from the SLA calculation.

The following entities are included in the SLA Report:

  • Active servers.

If you have an active server with a subclient that you no longer back up, then disable backup activity on the unused subclient. Subclients that are enabled and not backed up, even intentionally, cause the server to miss SLA.

  • Jobs imported from EDC.

The following entities are excluded from the SLA Report:

  • Deconfigured servers and subclients.
  • Servers and subclients with backup activity disabled.
  • Laptops that are offline during the entire time range of the report.
  • Newly added servers.

New servers are excluded from the SLA Report calculation for the first 30 days after the server is created so that you have time to properly configure backups for the server.

  • Deconfigured virtual machines.

To exclude deconfigured virtual machines from the SLA Report, add the deconfigured virtual machines to a Do Not Backup list or enable the Exclude from SLA and Strike Counts option.

  • Virtual machines protected by both an installed agent and a Virtual Server Agent.

In the SLA Report, once any agent is installed on a virtual machine, that virtual machine appears as protected by the agent that is installed on it. The virtual machine no longer appears as a server protected by the Virtual Server Agent.

In addition, this chart includes a link to a report about the servers that are excluded from the SLA report because backup activity is disabled, the server is deconfigured, or because the server has been offline for a long time.

You can view more detailed information regarding Met SLA and Missed SLA by clicking on the corresponding section in the pie chart, or by clicking on Met SLA or Missed SLA next to the pie chart.

You can also view more detailed information about excluded servers by clicking on Note: N servers are excluded from SLA. This link opens the Excluded Servers report.
