Installing Hotfix Packs

If the service pack is already installed and a hotfix pack is made available after the service pack release, you can download the hotfix pack on the CommServe computer and use the CommCell Console to install the hotfixes on your clients.

Before You Begin

Download the hotfix pack by selecting one of the following scenarios that applies to your CommCell environment.

Note: If you need to download cumulative hotfixes, follow the "CommServe computer does not have Internet connectivity" download steps.

CommServe computer does not have Internet connectivity

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Console ribbon, on the Tools tab, click Add/Remove SoftwareInstall Service Pack and Hotfixes.
  2. In the Install Service Pack and Hotfixes Options dialog box, expand Client Computers, and then select the clients on which you want to install the hotfixes.
  3. Click OK.

    You can track the progress of the job from the Job Controller window.

Note: During a hotfix pack installation, services are stopped and the CommCell Console is closed on affected machines. After installation, services may be cycled.

Results

  • Hotfixes are installed on the selected clients.
  • If you selected the options to install Windows OS updates and MS SQL Server updates when you install Commvault service pack or hotfix pack updates, then these updates are installed on the select clients. To see the updates that are installed, see "Results" in Installing the Service Pack Remotely Using the CommCell Console.
