Limitations

  • When you restore stubs to Celerra file server, you must add the restore proxy computer IP address to the client computer IP address. For example, use the following syntax:

    server_http server_2 -append dhsm -hosts 172.24.19.56

  • The restore by jobs feature is not supported.
  • When you restore stubs from a BlueArc file server to a NetApp 7 mode file server, you cannot recall files that are smaller than 1 KB.
  • When you restore stubs from NetApp C-mode to NetApp 7-mode file server to another NetApp C-mode to NetApp 7-mode file server, MTIME (the date and the time that a file was most recently modified) is not preserved.
  • When you restore Windows stubs or NAS stubs to UNIX or Mac computers, if a stub’s original file size is less than the file system block size, then the stub recall operation fails. For restored stubs, the read-only option and ACLS access control lists (ACLs) are not available. The restored sparse files become flat files.
  • When you restore stubs to a NetApp C-mode or NetApp 7-mode file server, the proxy computer used for restore must register to the NetApp file server.
